Erath High School Principal Marc Turner has been named as the new Assistant Superintendent in charge of Personnel and Operations. He will be replacing Paul Hebert, who is set to retire in December.
Turner is a 1994 graduate of Erath High School. He graduated from ULL with a degree in Elementary Education and has earned a Masters degree and an educational specialist degree from McNeese State University. In addition, Turner served in the United States Marine Corp from 1994-1998 and in the Louisiana National Guard from 1998-2015. He has served in the capacity of teacher, assistant principal and principal during his tenure in education, all of which have been spent in the Vermilion Parish School System. He was named the HS Principal of the Year three times in his nine year tenure as a school principal. He has been the president of the Vermilion's Principal Association for the past 6 years and has served on statewide school discipline committees over the past four years as a member of the Louisiana Association of Principals.
