For the 2022-2023 School Year, we will have a new Librarian at Rene Rost Middle School. My name is Mrs. Rachael Lormand, and I am so excited to be the librarian next year here at RMS. I am looking forward to bringing new, exciting ideas and a new look to the library. I also look forward to working with all students.

Rene Rost would like to wish a happy retirement to Mrs. Eve Dubois. She has dedicated many years to our school and the people of Kaplan. She will be greatly missed, but we truly wish her the best in her retirement!

We have noticed that many students are starting to wear clothing that is inappropriate for school. Although students have earned free dress passes, their clothing must be modest and school appropriate. The following guidelines are in the handbook: Students may wear school appropriate shorts (6 in. from ground when in kneeling position/length of PE shorts). Yoga and tight fitting pants are prohibited. (This includes leggings and biker shorts- biker shorts are short, skin-tight garments designed to improve comfort and efficiency while cycling, but are not school appropriate.) ***Students who violate dress code will have to call home for a change of clothes.***

My name is Laure MONCLIN and Ms POUGAULT from the CODOFIL program informed me that I will be teaching French as a second language at your school next year. I am excited by this new adventure and really hope that I will be up to the task !

Welcome to April Tate! She has accepted the Rene Rost Middle School 6th grade position. Hi! My name is April Tate and I am an educator with 4+ years teaching experience in the public school system teaching Social Studies, Science and ELA. I received my bachelors degree from McNeese State University in Sociology and obtained my teaching certification from LRCE in Baton Rouge. I am married to my husband Jake and we have 2 kids. Our son Blace attends OSU and our daughter Avery attends Meaux Elementary. When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with friends and family, listening to music and attending LSU football games. I’m beyond excited to be apart of Rene Rost teaching 6th and 7th ELA and look forward to meeting everyone!

I am married to Jake Faulk and we have 3 children together. I attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and achieved a Master’s degree in special education in 2015. I have been a special education teacher in Vermilion Parish for the last 6 years. I am looking forward to the 2022-2023 school year.

Rene Rost would like to wish a warm welcome to our new school counselor joining us for the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Ms. Rost and I am so excited to be your counselor next year. I graduated from Walden University in 2021 with my Masters's degree in School Counseling but I have been teaching Math/Science for the last 8 years. When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and baking! We are going to have an amazing year learning and growing!

My name is Kristi Benetti and I'm an educator with 5 year's experience teaching in public schools, and 11+ years of tutoring in small group and individual settings. I have two boys of my own and I have always loved working with children! I have an M.Ed and a BS in Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I'm from Kaplan, and I'm excited to be returning to Rene Rost! I look forward to the year ahead!
