UL Lafayette's Center for Excellence in Education and its Region 4 STEM Center are proud to present our fourth annual "STEM Olympics" camp as part of its STEMulating Summer Initiative 6.0 experience.
Rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will compete in various science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) related activities. We have a series of amazing STEM activities including Stomp Rockets, Mousetrap Cars, Lunar Landing, Science Labs, and Robotics!
Camp Dates: June 1 - 5, 2026
Time: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

This Week at GHS - March 30th through April 5th
This week, 7th grade students practiced making careful scientific observations by examining different chemical substances—using their senses (safely!), noting differences, and describing what they see in detail.
Our Honeybears continued their march to the playoffs this afternoon with a big 18-2 win over Opelousas High!
Gueydan’s Lache Pas students got to celebrate their hard work in the best way today—by enjoying every delicious bite! Over the past few days, they’ve been busy bringing a gumbo to life from scratch: mixing their own seasonings, mastering the art of a perfect roux, and diving into the flavors of the Cajun trinity. Safe to say, their hard work paid off in a big (and tasty!) way!

This afternoon, our GHS Advanced Band performed in the District III Large Ensemble Assessment at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where they earned ratings of "Excellent" from judges for both their stage performance and in sight reading! They've worked so hard this year to achieve these results, and we're proud of them every day!

GHS was well represented at today's Vermilion Parish Government Day in Abbeville!
FACS II students completed their final sewing project which were kitchen aprons! They made each unique and special. Their teacher, Mrs. Cynthia is so proud of them and they seem especially proud of themselves! ❤️ Great job ladies!
This morning, our students attended Lache Pas Day at JH Williams. Chubby Carrier played Zydeco for all of Vermilion Parish Lache Pas. He told a story about how he became a musican, he played with some students, and even danced.
