Nicholas Trahan Jr.  represented GHS at the 4-H State Livestock Show today in Alexandria!  He placed 1st and BOB/BOV with his Silver Marten Sr. Doe, 1st and BOS/BOSV with his Silver Marten Sr. Buck, 2nd place with his Mini Satin Sr. Buck, 3rd 🥉 with his Mini Satin Sr. Doe, and 4th with another Mini Satin Sr. Doe.  Way to SHOW UP Nicholas!  We are very proud of you!

Mrs. Caitlyn and her Lache Pas students visited JOES today to celebrate Louisiana Day!

Congratulations to our GHS Senior Beta Club on their extraordinary performance at the 2026 State Beta Convention, and special congratulations to the following students who placed in their subjects: Agriscience (9th grade), 4th place - Tate Touchet Agriscience (12th grade), 1st place- Blaise Hebert Biomedical Health Science (10th grade), 5th place - Ashton LaBauve Health & Physical Education (12th grade), 2nd place - Lakelyn Bruce Math (9th grade), 3rd - Logan Trahan Psychology (10th grade), 2nd place - Tripp Hebert Social Studies (10th grade), 2nd place - Tylan Leopold US History (12th grade), 4th place - Isaac Walton

Fine Arts students spent the past two weeks learning about the history, techniques, and process of oil paintings. They began their landscape paintings last week and finally finished them. Mrs. Cynthia can’t stop bragging about their work! Great job to all of these artists.

This Week at GHS - February 9th through February 15th

This week's Band Section of the Week is our 6th Grade Low Brass, and our Hardest Working this week is Maddex Delcambre!

FACS II students took a trip to our local quilt shop here in Gueydan. They got to see some amazing work done by The Cheeky Quilters and were given pointers, advice, and ideas for new projects. Ms. Jennifer also gifted the girls fabric to use in their class! Thanks again for having us the girls really enjoyed themselves.

GHS is celebrating School Counselor’s Appreciation Week by recognizing Mr. Chance for all the great work he does for our school! He's there for students when they need guidance, support, and encouragement, and he plays a key role in supporting the entire Gueydan community. GHS is a better place every day because of his tireless work and dedication Thank you, Mr. Chance, for all that you do!

Visiting local artist Keshawn “Key” Collins shared his talents with our students and guided them to create their own art! We got messy and had an amazing time. Great job to all students who participated!
