December 2 is National Special Education Day. National Special Education Day commemorates the anniversary of the nation’s first federal special education law being signed by President Gerald Ford in 1975 - now known as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Kids who qualify for special education have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). They get individualized teaching and other resources at no cost to their families. Specialists work with kids on strengths as well as challenges. Rene Rost Middle School would like to thank all of our Special Education providers!

Rene Rost Middle School teachers are looking to end their unit right before Christmas with a culminating activity to tie all of their subjects together. YOU can help! The teachers would like to allow students to use their STEM skills to build gingerbread houses. The teachers are asking for donations of Gingerbread House Kits. If you are able to donate, please bring the donations to Rene Rost Middle School by December 22, 2022. Administration has stated that all sixth grade students who meet the PBIS expectations can participate in the gingerbread house building. Thank you in advance for making this possible for our students!! (Please feel free to share with others.)
