French Immersion

The Vermilion Parish School System is now recruiting incoming Kindergarten students for the French Immersion Pathway at LeBlanc Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year.

French Immersion offers students the opportunity to become fluent in both French and English while learning core academic subjects such as math, science, and social studies in French. Beginning in Kindergarten, students are immersed in the French language for a significant portion of their day, helping them develop strong communication, cognitive, and problem-solving skills.

Students who live outside the LeBlanc Elementary School Zone are welcome to apply for the immersion pathway. Transportation is available for out-of-zone students, with satellite bus stops in Abbeville, Kaplan, and Maurice.

Families are invited to attend an informational meeting on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at LeBlanc Elementary School to learn more about the program and the application process.

The preliminary application for the 2026–2027 school year opens November 10, 2025, and can be found on the Vermilion Parish School System website. Seats are limited, so families are encouraged to apply early.
